Soupaneuring #2

I'd spent 12 hours slow-cooking a batch of snert. It was finished by the time I got back from my 15 mile ride. The Dutch say you don't have a proper bowl of snert if the spoon doesn't stand up straight in it. I should have demonstrated that in this photo, but I can assure you, this stuff is thick enough to do so.

Split peas, pork neck, onions, potatoes, celery, carrots with garlic, nutmeg, cloves and thyme. There's supposed to be smoked sausage in it, but I vetoed the sausage.
